The ‘UnionPay Nepal Fintech Festival 2025’ will take place this Thursday in Kathmandu. The event is being organized by Kathmandu Fintech and Fintech Alliance Nepal with the aim of promoting international-level fintech development in the country.
Former Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari will address the festival as the special guest. Other international speakers include Neil Cross, Chief Innovation Officer at DBS Bank; Deepak Sharma, Chief Digital Officer at Kotak Mahindra Bank; Sameer Singh Jaini, CEO of The Digital Fifth; and Rajesh Dadhich, CEO of Lyard Networks.
Top officials from Nepal Rastra Bank and leaders from banks and financial institutions in Nepal will also speak at the event. The program will include participation from regulators, bankers, fintech entrepreneurs, academics and other stakeholders. It will feature exhibitions of new technologies, product showcases and partnership agreements between fintech companies.
Sanjib Subba, founder of Kathmandu Fintech, said the event will be a major milestone for Nepal’s and the region’s fintech growth and is expected to make a significant contribution to building a digital financial future.
The event is sponsored by Nepal Clearing House. It is supported by global organizations such as Global Fintech Alliance, Asia Fintech Alliance, Fintech Convergence Council, International Digital Economies Association, Indian Financial Forum and PSP Association.
