The CPN-UML is holding its second Central Committee meeting today (Saturday) to discuss election plans and current political issues.
According to Min Bahadur Shahi, head of the party’s Central Publicity and Publication Department, the meeting will start at 11 a.m. at the Majestic Grand Party Palace in Ekantakuna, Lalitpur.
Shahi said the meeting will mainly focus on the party’s strategy for the upcoming House of Representatives elections and on present political developments. The decision to hold this second meeting was made during the first Central Committee meeting on December 19, 2025. The meeting will continue for two days, from January 10 to 11.
UML Secretary Dr. Rajan Bhattarai said that this meeting will only focus on election-related issues. Topics such as appointing central members, forming the Politburo and Standing Committee, and dividing responsibilities will not be discussed in this session.
