Two Dead, One Critically Injured in Separate Road Accidents in Jhapa and Nawalparasi

Two people lost their lives and one person was seriously injured in separate road accidents in Jhapa and Nawalparasi districts.

In Jhapa, a truck collided with a motorcycle late Monday night on the East–West Highway in Birtamod Municipality-5. The accident killed 32-year-old Khagendra Magar from Bahradashi Rural Municipality-4. His 25-year-old wife, Sukmaya Tamang, who was riding with him, was critically injured and is receiving treatment.

The truck, registered as Na 8 Kha 2297 and traveling from Birtamod to Buttabaari, hit the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The truck driver ran away, and police are searching for him.

In Nawalparasi (Bardaghat–Susta East), a 42-year-old pedestrian, Jaya Aryal, was killed when a car hit him late Monday night in Devchuli Municipality-14 on the East–West Highway. The car, heading towards Narayanghat, was driven by 43-year-old Chandra Bahadur Gole from Thaha Municipality-11, Makwanpur, who has been taken into police custody. Investigations are ongoing.
