A routine tower maintenance trip turned tragic in Bajura on Monday when a Nepal Telecom jeep met with a fatal accident in Jagannath rural municipality-2, Kandakot.
The vehicle numbered Ba 5 Cha 2209, was heading toward Jagannath for tower repair work when it skidded off the road and fell about 80 meters down a slope.
According to police, three people died on the spot—Lok Bahadur Khadka, the head of Nepal Telecom’s Bajura office; the driver Karn Bahadur Mehta; and a passenger, Rabindra Dhami.
Two others—Nandarama Tiruwa and Lokendra Tiruwa—sustained injuries in the incident. They were in the jeep at the time of the crash and are now receiving medical attention.
DSP Iqbal Hawari of Bajura said the team was on official duty from the district headquarters when the accident occurred. Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the crash.
