In a tragic incident in the US state of Texas, at least 13 people have lost their lives due to severe flooding. Heavy rains caused the Guadalupe River to overflow, leading to dangerous floodwaters in surrounding areas. Among the most affected is a local Christian summer camp called “Camp Mystic,” where more than 20 children have been reported missing.

According to Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, around 750 children were staying at the camp when the flood struck. Rescue teams are working tirelessly to search for the missing children, while many others have already been airlifted to safety using helicopters. Thankfully, children from nearby camps have been confirmed safe for now.

The mayor of Kerrville, Joe Herring Jr., has declared a state of emergency to speed up rescue and relief operations. Meanwhile, Texas Governor Greg Abbott took to the social media platform X to inform the public that all possible resources have been mobilized to handle the disaster. He also shared that he has spoken with President Donald Trump to ensure coordination and promised to provide any support necessary during this difficult time.

This flood has shaken the local community, with families desperately waiting for news about their loved ones. Emergency services continue to work around the clock in the hope of bringing more children to safety.
