Tensions Rise as Thai-Cambodian Border Clash Claims 12 Lives

A deadly clash between Thai and Cambodian forces in a long-disputed border area has left at least 12 Thai nationals dead, sparking renewed fears of conflict between the two Southeast Asian neighbors.

Just a day earlier, a Thai soldier had been injured in a landmine explosion near the same area. That incident prompted Thailand to recall its ambassador from Combodia, further worsening the diplomatic climate.
