The Nepal Teachers Federation, staging a protest as part of its ongoing effort to press for the passage of the School Education Bill through incorporation of its concerns, has requested all headmasters, teachers and school staff not to play any role in the upcoming Grade 12 exams starting from April 24 (Baisakh 11).

Elaborating further, it has asked teachers not to work as center chiefs, inspectors or in any other capacity during the exams.

NTF has also urged teachers not to get involved in checking answer sheets, publishing results, entrance exams, student admissions, trainings, seminars or educational tours.

It has also requested private school organizations like PABSON and NPABSON to support the protest by closing institutional schools.

Meanwhile, Nepali Congress leaders Gagan Thapa and Bishwo Prakash Sharma have started talking with the teachers' leaders. They met at the party’s central office in Sanepa to discuss the teachers' demands with a plan to raise this issue with the government.
