NRB Issues 10 Lakh New Notes of Rs 5 Denomination

Nepal Rastra Bank has issued 10 lakh new banknotes of Rs 5 denomination.

The front face of the banknote issued on April 15 contains features like the image of Sagarmatha, the watermark of rhododendron on the right with the signature of the outgoing governor, Maha Prasad Adhikari.

The back of the note sports features like “NEPAL RASTRA BANK”, the wild yak in the middle, a Himalaya of the Limi region along with “RUPEES FIVE” printed on the bottom section.

The new notes come amid protracted delays in the appointment of the governor.
