The cousins, 15-year-old Saraswati Khadka and 14-year-old Ishara Khadka, had gone missing since Friday after leaving to check on goats. Their bodies were discovered with severe head injuries, raising fears of wrongdoing.

Family members have alleged murder, urging a detailed police investigation. DSP Ishwori Prasad Bhandari and Chief District Officer Shiva Prasad Lamsal visited the site and described the incident as mysterious, stating that the exact cause of death would be determined after the post-mortem.

The authorities also reported that, the bodies were found in separate locations in the forest, with a dead bull nearby, seemingly placed to mislead investigators and cover suspicious odours.
