Seven Nepali boys who had reached India in search of work have been rescued and brought back home to Nepal. The boys, three from Sarlahi and four from Mahottari districts, had left for Chennai around three months ago. While on their way, they reached the Muzaffarpur railway station in Bihar, where they were stopped by Indian police. The police then handed them over to the local Child Welfare Committee for safety and further procedures.
After completing all the required legal steps, the boys were finally brought back to Nepal last Friday. The rescue and return process was coordinated by the Provincial Child Search Coordination Center based in Janakpur. During the handover process, Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Social Welfare of Madhesh Province, Ranjit Kumar Yadav, was also present.
According to Sanjeev Mahato, the Provincial Coordinator from Dhanusha, the children have now been safely handed over to their respective families.
