The Supreme Court has ordered Prime Minister Sushila Karki to submit a written response in a contempt case over the government's decision to recall ambassadors from 13 countries.
A bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Abdul Azij Musalman issued the directive on Sunday after petitions claimed the recall defied the court’s earlier interim order.
Two contempt petitions, one naming the Foreign Ministry and PM’s Office, and another directly naming PM Karki were filed on November 18.
The government recalled ambassadors on October 16, but an interim order on November 2 had barred implementation. Despite this, the recall was repeated on November 3, triggering the court action.
