The government has fast-tracked the purchase of new vehicles for Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the National Investigation Department to ensure a peaceful and secure parliamentary election.

Most structures damaged during the Gen-Z protests have already been repaired, 449 out of 465 police offices are back in operation, while APF and NID have also completed major repairs.

The Finance Ministry has approved over Rs 80 crore for Nepal Police to buy more than 250 vehicles, including patrol pickups, electric office vehicles, escort vans, and a prison transport vehicle. APF will receive 59 vehicles, including Boleros, riot-control trucks, and ambulances, while NID has funding for six four-wheelers.

The Home Ministry says all essential vehicles will be ready before election day.
