Nepali cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has officially announced that he will not be continuing under the central contract of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). Sharing his decision through a social media post on Wednesday, the cricketer stated that this move does not mean he is stepping away from cricket or his nation. Instead, he emphasized that it is a step toward his personal and professional development.
He wrote, “After careful consideration, I have decided not to be part of CAN’s central contract this time. This decision is meant to help me grow further in both my cricketing career and personal journey.”
The Cricket Association of Nepal had included a total of 52 players — 33 men and 19 women — under its latest central contract scheme. Sandeep was listed in the highest category, 'A' grade, receiving a monthly salary of NPR 100,000. While fans may be surprised by this decision, Sandeep has reassured everyone that he remains committed to representing Nepal and contributing to the sport in other ways.
