The April 20 protest organized by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) ended after police arrested several of its leaders, including Chairman Rajendra Lingden, as they tried to enter a restricted area.

After the arrests, the protesters moved away from the prohibited zone. The RPP has called an emergency meeting of its executive committee at 4:30 pm on April 20.

Party spokesperson Mohan Shrestha said that if the leaders are not released by this evening, the RPP will hold torch rallies across the country.

Those arrested include Chairman Rajendra Lingden, Vice Chairman Buddhi Man Tamang, and leader Gyanendra Shahi. They have been taken to the Kathmandu Police Office in Bhadrakali.
