Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden and other leaders who were arrested during a protest have been released after about four hours.
They were taken into custody by the police after staging a protest at Singha Durbar.
Along with Chairman Lingden, senior leader and Vice-president Buddhiman Tamang, spokesperson Gyanendra Shahi, RPP Youth Wing President Kailash Katuwal, Vice-president Saroj Chhetri and Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantrik Udpidit Utthan Sangathan, Amar Aryal, were arrested.
They were released about four hours later.
