Roshani Shahi Found Dead in Her Rented Room in Suryavinayak

Roshni Shahi (50) of Jajarkot was found dead in suspicious circumstances in her rented room in Balkot, Bhaktapur, on Sunday.

The owner of the house based in Suryabinayak municipality-3, Laxmishwor Mahato, informed police upon finding the door to her room unopened well into the afternoon.

In the presence of local people, police broke open the door, only to find Shahi lying dead on the floor of her bedroom.

According to police, there were no external injury marks in her body. They have recovered a suicide note from the site. 

Six years ago, Shahi had accused former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara of raping her. Her husband was reportedly outside the Kathmandu valley, and she had been staying alone for the past few days.
