Rabi Lamichhane Appears at Kathmandu Court for Hearing

Former Home Minister and President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, has appeared at the Kathmandu District Court for the first hearing of the case filed against him regarding the misappropriation of funds from Swarnalakshmi Cooperative. His wife, Nikita Poudel, is also present with him at the court.

Earlier, on Magh 2, the Kathmandu District Court had ordered his release on bail, setting the amount at NPR 6 million. The case alleges that Lamichhane misused cooperative funds by diverting them to Gorkha Media Network Pvt. Ltd.

Lamichhane was arrested on Kartik 2 from the central office of his party. The case has drawn significant public and media attention, as he is a prominent political figure in Nepal.
