Purnima Shrestha Recognized in CNN's Extreme Athletes

Purnima Shrestha, a celebrated photojournalist and mountaineer, has been featured in CNN's prestigious "Extreme Athletes Who Pushed Limits in 2024" list. Shrestha earned the recognition for her remarkable feats in mountain climbing, particularly becoming the first woman in the world to summit Mt. Everest three times in a single season. She achieved this historic milestone by reaching the summit on May 12, 19, and 25 during the spring season, all within two weeks.

In her response, Shrestha expressed her pride in the honor, sharing her excitement on social media: "2024 remains historic for me. I climbed Mt. Everest three times in a single season." She also thanked her family, friends, and supporters for their encouragement throughout her journey and expressed hope for even greater accomplishments in 2025. 

In addition to her Everest success, Shrestha made history as the first Nepali woman to summit Dhaulagiri peak. Purnima Shrestha’s extraordinary achievements continue to inspire athletes and adventurers worldwide.
