President Ramchandra Paudel participated in a special program organized by the Nepal Army at the military ground in Tundikhel on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri and the 263rd anniversary of the Nepal Army. Accompanied by First Lady Sabita Paudel, the President attended the ceremony and military arts exhibition on Sunday morning.
On the occasion, the Nepal Army presented a ceremonial salute to honor President Paudel, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the army. He also laid a floral wreath at the military memorial. The ceremony featured a display of various military skills, marching, traditional attire, performances of music and dance, and other artistic demonstrations reflecting Nepalese military culture.
President Paudel also inaugurated the army’s Sipahi magazine and presented awards to outstanding participants at the exhibition.
The program showcased vehicles, equipment, and weapons used in peacekeeping missions. Additionally, the army conducted marches on the military ground, dropped flower bouquets from helicopters, and presented impressive displays with rifles and cannons as part of the Maha Shivaratri celebrations.
During the event, President Paudel presented gifts to the band leaders of friendly nations, including India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The ceremony was attended by Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, ministers, heads of diplomatic missions in Nepal, the Chief of Army Staff, other security agency chiefs, senior government officials, and distinguished figures from various sectors of society.
