On the occasion of Constitution Day, President Ram Chandra Paudel emphasized that Nepal’s progress depends on strong governance and the proper use of its abundant natural resources, particularly water and energy. He expressed optimism that the country can achieve rapid prosperity if malpractices are curbed and resources are managed wisely.
In his national message, the President reflected on the significance of the 2015 constitution, which ended a centralized system and brought together Nepal’s diverse ethnic, cultural, linguistic, and geographic communities under the banner of federal democratic republicanism. He said the charter envisions an inclusive, equitable society and a socialism-oriented economy where every citizen has equal access to state services and social security.
Paudel also called on all Nepalis to live by the constitution’s spirit through honesty and collective effort, noting that it provides a framework for peace, development, and social justice.
Concluding his message, the President paid tribute to the martyrs who gave their lives for democracy, and extended respect to political leaders, citizens, and activists who played crucial roles in Nepal’s democratic movements. He said Constitution Day is both a celebration of past sacrifices and a reminder of the shared responsibility to strengthen the republic.
