Speaker Devraj Ghimire has expressed dissatisfaction over the interim government’s decision to dissolve the House of Representatives, saying the move overlooked possible solutions within the existing parliamentary framework.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday after inspecting damage to the Federal Parliament building, Ghimire said it would have been “better to seek solutions through the House rather than opting for dissolution.”
He emphasized the need to carefully examine the objectives of the Gen Z movement and to guide the nation forward with unity and collective effort. Expressing grief over the losses during the recent protests, Ghimire called the situation “deeply painful” and stressed that alternative approaches could have addressed the country’s problems without dissolving Parliament.
“The interim government carries a heavy responsibility, and I hope it fulfills its mandate successfully,” he added.
