President Paudel Pledges to Lobby for Female Journalists' Cause

President Ramchandra Paudel has promised to prod concerned authorities constantly to prioritize female journalists’ core concerns.  

While receiving a 10-point memorandum from Sancharika Samuha (a group of female journalists) at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, he appreciated the good works of the group like imparting training to aspiring women journalists.

He pledged while interacting with a delegation under Bimala Tumkhewa, president of the Samuha: Though I am not in an executive position, I will press concerned authorities to prioritize the female journalists’ concerns.

The 10-point demand includes the creation of a gender-friendly environment at the workplace, equal pay for equal work, training programs for upskilling female journalists, stopping the drain of female journalists from the media, job security guarantees and priority to female journalists in government  appointments.
