Dengue infections have sharply increased in Baglung following the Dashain and Tihar festivals, with 532 confirmed cases reported so far. The Provincial Public Health Office said the virus has spread across all municipalities except Bareng Rural Municipality, signaling a widespread outbreak beyond the usual rainy season.
Baglung Municipality has recorded the highest number of infections at 295, while Tamankhola Rural Municipality has reported only one case. Health authorities have intensified testing across all ten municipalities as cases continue to rise.
Hospitals and health centers, including Dhaulagiri Hospital, Galkot Hospital, Burtibang Hospital, and the Kusmishera Primary Health Center, have arranged special treatment facilities for dengue patients.
Officials have urged the public to maintain sanitation and remove mosquito breeding sites such as stagnant water, discarded containers, and old tires to help control the spread of the disease.
