Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of popular Nepali actor Sunil Thapa.

In a condolence message issued today, Prime Minister Karki said that the Nepali and Indian film industries have lost a talented and versatile artist. She said Thapa won the hearts of millions through his strong performances, from playing Rate Kainla in the Nepali film Chino to appearing as a boxing coach in the Indian film Mary Kom.

The prime minister said that every role played by Thapa will always remain in the memory of audiences. She added that his dedication and contribution to the film industry for more than four decades will continue to inspire future generations of artists.

Paying tribute to the late actor, Prime Minister Karki also extended heartfelt condolences to his family members, relatives, well-wishers and the entire art community.

Actor Sunil Thapa passed away this morning at the age of 68 due to a heart attack.
