5.0-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Naya Bazar, Ilam

A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Naya Bazar in Mai Jogmai Rural Municipality, Ilam district, on Saturday evening.

The National Seismological Center in Lainchaur said the quake’s epicenter was close to Naya Bazar.

Earlier, on Poush 19, a 4.3-magnitude earthquake occurred near Bagmati in Udayapur.

Since Nepal is in the Himalayan region, earthquakes of different sizes happen frequently.
