A high-level meeting of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) was held in Seville as part of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development. The session was chaired by Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

In his opening speech, PM Oli highlighted the financial struggles that LDCs face and called for long-term international support to help these countries grow and meet their development goals.

The discussion mainly focused on important issues like how to gather more financial resources, manage rising debt, and ensure inclusive economic growth in LDCs, which are officially recognized by the United Nations as the world’s most vulnerable countries.

Later in the day, PM Oli is expected to speak at another high-level event hosted by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. The program, titled “Investing in Global Solidarity: A New Approach to Development Cooperation,” aims to promote better partnerships and new ideas for global development.

This international summit has brought together leaders from around the world, including heads of state, ministers, and development experts, to explore better ways to fund sustainable development and meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
