The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued its upward trend for the third consecutive day on Tuesday, rising by 28.91 points and closing at 2,660. This follows earlier gains of 26 points on Sunday and 9 points on Monday. Along with the rise in the index, transaction volume also increased, reaching NPR 7.03 billion compared to NPR 6.38 billion on the previous trading day. A total of 217 listed companies saw their stock prices rise, while only 31 recorded a decline.

 

Most sectoral indices posted gains, with the investment group leading the rally at 2.38% growth. Microfinance rose by 2.22%, hydropower by 1.38%, development banks by 1.21%, life insurance by 1.12%, and banking by 1.09%. Similarly, non-life insurance increased by 1.05%, finance by 0.55%, hotel and tourism by 0.57%, and others by 0.48%. However, the manufacturing and processing sector declined slightly by 0.07%, and the trading sector dipped by 0.61%.

 

Among the top-performing companies were Samudayik Laghubitta and Nyadi Hydropower, both posting gains of 9.87%. Barun Hydropower rose by 8.41%, Rapti Hydro & General Construction by 8.31%, and Support Microfinance by 8%. On the other hand, Unilever Nepal recorded the highest loss of the day, falling by 2.13%.

 

The most actively traded stocks on Tuesday included NRN Infrastructure, Radhi Hydropower, Butwal Power, Saptakoshi Development Bank, and Union Hydropower. Overall, the market reflected strong investor confidence with broad-based gains across major sectors.
