On the 34th International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Prime Minister Sushila Karki emphasized Nepal’s commitment to empowering persons with disabilities (PWDs) through inclusive development and governance.
PM Karki highlighted health, education, employment, social security, rehabilitation, and participation as key priorities, while reaffirming that the constitution and existing laws protect the social, economic, cultural, and political rights of PWDs. She stressed the need to remove barriers to public services, physical infrastructure, and legal access.
The Prime Minister called for coordinated efforts across federal, provincial, and local governments to expand employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, urging stakeholders to strengthen advocacy and ensure a dignified, equitable life for all PWDs.
