In a fresh breakthrough in the Gen-Z protest investigation, Nepal Police have arrested three individuals found with weapons looted from police offices during the unrest. The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office made the arrests following a confidential tip-off and presented the suspects on Monday.
The detainees are Rasil Joshi (28) of Kalanki, Ram Chandra Kunwar ‘David’ (19) of Darchula, currently living in Sundhara, and Birat Prasad Joshi (31) of Bafal, Kathmandu.
According to Office Spokesperson SP Kaji Kumar Acharya, police recovered a Nepal Police-marked pistol and two mobile phones from them. Acharya said Rasil Joshi had previously escaped from Swoyambhu Police Circle during the Gen-Z protest while serving a sentence in a drug case.
The trio has been sent to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, for further investigation.
