Nepal is observing the 34th International Day of Persons with Disabilities today with programs organized by government bodies and disability-rights organizations. Celebrated globally since 1992, the day aims to promote inclusion and protect the rights of persons with disabilities.

This year’s slogan, “Promoting a Disability-Inclusive Society: Enhancing Social Progress,” highlights the need for accessible infrastructure and equal opportunities. While Nepal’s Constitution guarantees dignity and equal access for persons with disabilities, stakeholders say stronger implementation is needed to ensure these rights are fully realized.
