PM Karki Emphasizes Ensuring Women’s Role in Policy-Making

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has emphasized the importance of ensuring women’s participation in the state’s policy-making processes.

Speaking at a programme at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on International Women’s Day, she highlighted the hardships faced by marginalized women, including Dalit, Madhesi, and Karnali women, who remain excluded from mainstream development.

Karki stressed integrating these communities into the national mainstream, ensuring access to opportunities, and guaranteeing dignified participation in nation-building. Referring to the Gen Z Movement of September 2025, she noted that equality and good governance require active societal cooperation. She reaffirmed that the constitution guarantees women’s rights, inclusive participation, and social justice as core state principles.
