Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has confirmed that complaints regarding violations of the election code of conduct are being thoroughly investigated and necessary actions will be taken.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday after inspecting the ballot printing at Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra press, Bhandari stated that complaints have been received against some candidates. The Commission has asked these candidates for clarifications, and once reviewed, appropriate decisions will be made.
He emphasized, “We are strictly enforcing the election code of conduct and monitoring compliance. Complaints have been received against some candidates. Some have submitted clarifications, while others are in the process of doing so. After reviewing these, the Commission will take the necessary action. Election preparations are moving swiftly. I also urge the media to report impartially rather than favor any side. The elections will be held on the scheduled date and time.”
For the upcoming House of Representatives election on 21st Falgun, over 7.26 million ballots for the first-past-the-post system have been printed, and 5,825 boxes have been packed. A total of 20.32 million ballots are required. For the proportional representation system, 20.83 million ballots have already been printed and are ready for distribution.
