Nepal Telecom Is the Digital Backbone of the State: Home Minister Aryal

Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said that Nepal Telecom is not just a telecommunications service provider but the digital backbone of the state. Speaking at the 22nd anniversary celebration of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (Nepal Telecom) on Thursday, he stated that the company has played a significant role in expanding communication access from remote Himalayan regions to villages in the Tarai.

He noted that Nepal Telecom’s contribution during natural disasters, pandemics, and other emergency situations has been memorable and commendable. Minister Aryal said that in today’s context, telecommunications services are no longer merely a business but have become a basic necessity of human life and a vital infrastructure for educational, social, and economic development.

Emphasizing that receiving quality services based on the latest technology is the right of consumers, he stressed that the company must pay special attention to this aspect. He added that customer satisfaction is the foundation of a company’s sustainable growth and stability, and in a competitive market, Nepal Telecom must balance its public responsibility, service quality, and technological innovation.

The Home Minister also stated that Nepal Telecom has been contributing to nation-building through the promotion of digital literacy, implementation of the e-government concept, and the development of a knowledge-based society. Highlighting that public services act as a bridge between the government and citizens, he said Nepal Telecom’s role will remain crucial in further strengthening the relationship between the state and the people.
