Chairman of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP), Narayan Man Bijukchhe, has called on party leaders and members to put the country and society before personal interests.
Speaking at the party’s eighth general convention, Bijukchhe emphasized that collective well-being is key to national progress. He stated that a true communist leader works for the overall transformation of the country rather than focusing on personal or family benefits.
“Dedication and sacrifice are essential for communists. Living for society promotes equality, and the ultimate goal should be the establishment of socialism,” he said. He urged party members to follow this principle and stand against any activity that harms the nation or its people.
Following his address, the convention moved into a closed session, where district, provincial, and central leaders presented their reports, according to central member Saroj Gosain.
On the third day of the event, party secretary Prem Suwal is set to present a report, which will be discussed in detail. The convention, attended by around 300 representatives from 50 districts, will conclude tomorrow.
