Nepal's stock market saw a strong boost today as investors reacted positively to the news that economist Biswo Paudel may be appointed as the Governor.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index went up by 49.09 points, ending the day at 2,677.45.
Out of the total listed companies, share prices of 229 firms increased, while only 15 saw a drop. One company’s share price remained the same.
The total trading amount for the day reached NPR 7.31 billion, and all sector indices showed positive growth.
Sindhu Bikas Bank was the top performer, giving investors the highest returns. At the same time, Vin Nepal Laghubitta recorded the biggest losses.
Market optimism seems to be rising with the expectation of leadership clarity at the Nepal Rastra Bank.
