The stock market saw a decline on Sunday, with the market index falling by 13.62 points settling at 2,876.66. Despite the drop, trading activity remained high, with shares worth 14.28 billion rupees exchanged.
Out of all listed companies, 51 saw an increase in share prices, while 187 companies experienced a decline, and 6 remained unchanged.
The hotel and tourism sector suffered the biggest loss, dropping by 1.88%, while the "other" sector saw the highest rise at 1.86%. Some stocks performed notably, Guardian Micro Life hit the upper circuit breaker, while Samaj Microfinance faced a negative circuit breaker.
Nepal Reinsurance Company stood out in trading, leading in both transaction volume and total trading value, recording deals worth 138 million rupees.
Before this decline, the market had been on a continuous upward trend for 10 days, gaining 212 points. While today’s drop marks a correction, overall trading activity remained strong.
