Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) organized the “Connecting Content Creators with Package Curators” program in Kathmandu on Tuesday to showcase the unique attractions and untapped potential of lesser-known regions. The program, a part of NTB’s ongoing efforts to engage the young generation in identifying and promoting emerging tourism destinations across the country, brought together tourism entrepreneurs and content creators under one platform, encouraging collaboration to develop and promote new tourism products.
As part of the program, video content highlighting destinations from Api Himal in the Far West to the Mundhum Trail in the Far East was showcased. These videos featured unexplored and under-promoted locations from all seven provinces.
Speaking at the event, NTB Chief Executive Officer Deepak Raj Joshi emphasized the need to embrace technology and new strategies to enhance tourism promotion. “While we have a rich legacy of tourism, we often limit ourselves to promoting the same few destinations. With global tourism trends evolving rapidly, we too must innovate—exploring and promoting new places that resonate with today’s travelers.”
Joshi highlighted the growing involvement of youth who are traveling independently and creating impactful content across the nation. “This initiative is designed to connect these passionate content creators with tourism product developers to collaboratively promote Nepal’s diverse attractions. The Board is committed to working with this new generation of storytellers to re-imagine tourism,” he added.
Publisher and editor of Himal Media, Kanak Mani Dixit, urged content creators and tourism professionals to focus on quality tourism development. “It’s time we move beyond traditional narratives. Merely promoting Everest and the Himalayas is not enough—we must also highlight our rich culture and natural diversity. NTB’s initiative is a promising step in this direction,” he remarked, encouraging greater collaboration between individuals and institutions.
The event featured presentations of regional content creators: Manoj Acharya (Koshi province), Manish Ruchal of Ghumante (Madhesh and Bagmati provinces), Hemant Bhandari of Nepal 8th Wonder (Gandaki province), Pallav Pandit (Lumbini province), Sirjana Oli aka Sirjana Sijju (Karnali province) and Hemant Rai (Sudurpaschim province).
Each shared compelling video content and insights into the potential of new tourist destinations in their respective regions.
The program concluded with interactive sessions between content creators and package curators, fostering dialogue on strategies to design innovative travel experiences that cater to the interests of the modern traveler.
