A landslide has put Tilgau village in Namkha rural municipality ward number 6 of Humla at high risk.
The District Administration Office reported that 18 houses are in danger after landslides hit the village on Thursday and Friday.
Due to this, 32 people have been displaced. They are now living under tarpaulin tents in a safer area near their homes.
Locals suspect that the landslide occurred after a glacial lake burst, but this has not yet been confirmed, according to Chief District Officer Narayan Pandey.
Ward Chairperson Paljor Tamang said a landslide was advancing toward the village, putting the entire settlement at risk.
Locals said the landslide swept away the building of a hydropower project, water pipes, irrigation canals and roads.
Even though the landslide occurred four days ago, locals came to know about the glacial lake burst only yesterday, said Ward Chair Tamang.
He added that he and a team of five people hiked for hours and saw the burst glacial lake themselves.
The place where the glacial lake burst is at an altitude of 5,300 meters, according to locals.
