MCC Projects Suspended Following U.S. Executive Order

After the suspension of USAID projects, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), another U.S. aid agency, has also experienced setbacks.

On February 14, the U.S. government sent a letter saying that MCC projects should not continue for now, according to Nepal's Ministry of Finance on Tuesday.

The ministry stated, "The work on the projects funded by the MCC under the agreement signed between the Government of Nepal and the organization on September 14, 2017, has been paused. This is in line with the 90-day executive order issued by the U.S. President on January 20, 2025."
