The Central Working Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress has begun at the party’s central office in Sanepa.
This is the first meeting of the new leadership at the party headquarters after Gagan Kumar Thapa was elected party president through the special general convention. Thapa was unanimously chosen as party chair, and the Election Commission has already granted official recognition to the Central Committee led by him.
The meeting is expected to discuss key agendas, including the possible declaration of Thapa as the party’s prime ministerial candidate for the upcoming elections.
The new leadership team entered the Sanepa office after youth leaders from the establishment faction vacated the premises earlier. Party insiders believe the Central Committee under Thapa’s leadership will inject new momentum into the party while addressing internal disputes and reform agendas.
