March 28 Protest: Murder Case Filed Against Durga Prasain, Seven Others

The government attorney’s office has filed a murder case against eight of the individuals in judicial custody in connection with the protest of royalist forces in Kathmandu, including Durga Prasain, the self-styled commander of the protest. 

Journalists Suresh Rajak and transport worker Sabin Maharjan had lost their lives, while several others had sustained injuries amid incidents of looting, arson, vandalism and use of police force to control the situation.

The eight defendants are: Durga Prasain, Hari Chaulagain, Saroj Gautam alias Tara Rajavadi, Shatish Neupane, Gokarana Shahi, Dandapani Regmi, Santosh Kumar Silwal and Hemraj Tharu.
