The Janta Samajwadi Party (JSP) has officially seen a reunification. A faction that had split earlier to form a new party under Ashok Rai has now rejoined Janta Samajwadi Party Nepal.
On Monday, JSP co-chair Renu Yadav, along with Secretary Pradeep Yadav and the majority of central committee members, signed an agreement to merge back with the parent party. The formal document states that on 13 Poush 2082, the merger between Janta Samajwadi Party Nepal and the faction led by co-chair Renu Yadav was completed.
Former ministers Renu Yadav and Pradeep Yadav actively participated in the unification process. Following the merger, Pradeep Yadav emphasized that the unification is aimed at safeguarding federalism, protecting the achievements of the Madhesh movement, and ensuring the rights of the Madheshi people.
He added that the merger reflects the changing political landscape and responds to the aspirations and expectations of the Madheshi population, reinforcing the commitment of the unified party to regional and national development.
