Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has updated the foreign exchange rates for today (May 9), showing an increase in the value of all major currencies, including the US dollar, euro, pound, dinar, and Australian dollar.
The buying rate for 1 US dollar is now NPR 136.49, and the selling rate is NPR 137.44, compared to yesterday’s NPR 135.43 and NPR 136.03.
The US dollar had previously hit a record high on Magh 25, with a buying rate of NPR 139.83 and a selling rate of NPR 140.43. The euro also rose to NPR 154.49 (buying) and NPR 155.17 (selling), up from NPR 153.95 and NPR 154.63. The pound sterling increased to NPR 182.22 (buying) and NPR 183.02 (selling), compared to yesterday’s NPR 180.80 and NPR 181.60. The Australian dollar is now NPR 87.87 (buying) and NPR 88.17 (selling), slightly up from NPR 87.70 and NPR 88.09.
The Kuwaiti dinar saw a notable rise to NPR 446.27 (buying) and NPR 448.23 (selling), from NPR 441.74 and NPR 443.70 while the Bahraini dinar climbed to NPR 362.96 (buying) and NPR 364.55 (selling), compared to yesterday’s rates of NPR 359.20 and NPR 360.79.
