Magnitude-4.1 Earthquake Hits Jajarkot

Jajarkot district (Karnali province) experienced a magnitude-4.1 quake at 9.31 pm on Monday, the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center informed, adding that it was epicentered at Paink of the district. According to the center, the same area had witnessed two earthquakesof magnitudes 5.2 and 5.5 on April 3, damaging some houses.    

Moreover, Darchula and Humla districts also had the quakes in March and April. 
On November 3, 2023, a magnitude-6.4 quake epicentered at Ramidanda had hit Jajarkot, leaving behind a trail of death, devastation and  displacement. 

After the mag-6.4 jolt came several major aftershocks hitting Jajarkot, Rukum West and five other districts in the Karnali province, impacting five local municipalities the most: Kushe, Nalgad and Bheri in Jajarkot and Athbiskot and Sani Bheri in Rukum West.
