Gold has become more expensive than ever in Nepal. On Wednesday, the price of gold increased by Rs 2,700 in one day, reaching Rs 187,000 per tola. (1 tola = 11.66 grams)
Just a day before, on Tuesday, the price was Rs 184,300 per tola, according to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Federation.
Silver is now priced at Rs 1,955 per tola. Its price did not change much.
The sharp rise in gold prices is due to global factors. With economic uncertainty increasing, many people are investing in gold, which is causing prices to go up around the world including in Nepal.
