Many places across the country experienced light to moderate rainfall last night, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Moderate rain was recorded in several districts, including Sindhupalchok, Kathmandu, Kaski, Lamjung, Parbat, Palpa, Mugu, Ilam, and Dhankuta.
Light showers were also seen in parts of Madhesh Province, including Saptari.
The highest amount of rain in the past 12 hours was recorded in Nupruga of Sindhupalchok, where 120 millimeters of rain fell. Other rain measurement centers in Sindhupalchok, such as Bolde, Dhunge, Nupruga, Tarke Ghyang, Melamchi Ghyang, and Bhotang, also reported moderate rainfall.
The Flood Forecasting Division has asked people living in and around these areas to remain careful, as there is still a chance of more rain.
Monsoon winds are currently active all over Nepal. The weather office has said that today, some hilly areas and a few places in the Terai may see moderate rain with thunder and lightning. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
