Large Quantity of Gold Seized in Rasuwa

A significant amount of smuggled gold has been seized in Rasuwa district, according to police sources.

Officials at the Rasuwa district police office confirmed the discovery and said they are currently weighing the seized gold. Rasuwa Police Chief Hem Bahadur Shahi also confirmed the seizure but did not reveal the exact quantity.

While police have increased surveillance at the Tribhuvan International Airport to curb gold smuggling, smugglers are now increasingly using the northern border routes like Rasuwa. 

The end destination of most of the smuggled gold is believed to be India.
