All public hospitals in northern Gaza have stopped functioning, according to the health ministry run by Hamas. The shutdown comes as Israel continues its latest military offensive in the area.
On Sunday, the ministry said the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia — the last one still operating in the north — was surrounded by Israeli forces. It reported heavy gunfire around the hospital, preventing patients, doctors, and supplies from getting in.
Earlier, two other major hospitals in the area — Beit Hanoun and Kamal Adwan — were also destroyed. With the Indonesian Hospital now out of service, there are no public hospitals left running in northern Gaza.
This development follows the launch of Israel’s new military campaign, “Operation Gideon’s Chariot,” described as one of the deadliest in recent months.
Meanwhile, Hamas has proposed a new ceasefire deal, offering to release nine hostages in exchange for a 60-day truce and the release of Palestinian prisoners. Talks are ongoing.
