The minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley has increased sharply, rising to above 8 degrees Celsius from around 4 degrees Celsius the previous day.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, Kathmandu recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am today (Wednesday). At the same time on Tuesday, the temperature was 4.0 degrees Celsius. Later, during the official reading at 8:45 am, it dropped further to 3.5 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologists said the official minimum temperature for today will again be measured at 8:45 am and is expected to be slightly lower than the early morning reading.
They also explained that an increase in minimum temperature usually means the morning cold has become milder.
