Ujjyalo Nepal Party Chairperson Kulman Ghising has said that the party’s name and election symbol will not be allowed to merge with any other political party.
Speaking at the formation program of the Ujjyalo Nepal Kathmandu–Ramechhap Forum held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Chairperson Ghising made this statement. Recalling the unity agreement with the Rastriya Swatantra Party as an unfortunate accident, he said the party has now reached a strong position. He remarked that the party went into a “coma” for 12 days due to the unity with RSP, but has now recovered and emerged healthy.
Ghising also appealed to voters to ensure the victory of the 121 candidates contesting the upcoming House of Representatives election from his party. He expressed concern that so-called new parties are indulging in extravagance during elections, stressing the need to be mindful of minimizing election expenses.
Ghising said, “It has not even been three months since the party was formed, yet we went into a coma in between, which caused some problems. Now we have recovered and come out healthy. From now on, we will not allow the Ujjyalo Party’s name and election symbol to be merged by joining with any party. Other parties may merge into us, but we will not merge into others.”
He also highlighted the achievements he made while serving as the Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, asserting that there is no alternative to the Ujjyalo Nepal Party for the overall development of the country.
